On the way back from Italy, I was lucky enough to have a clear day in SF. We circled around the coastline before landing and I snapped this beautiful pic of the GG. I have many other pretty pictures too, including SF downtown. You can probably find these on GoogleEarth these days, but it's still cool to see it for real and take a pic of it.

The Crooked Street

Check out how what the GPS image of the famous crooked street in SF looks! And yes, the voice does tell you to turn left every 15ft, then turn right again in the next 15ft.

It's been a while since we've both been on this street. I think there is a need to add an all way stop to Lombard leading up to this segment. Right now only Lombard gets a stop sign and you end up waiting for the cable car and other cross traffic for quite a while before being able to cross. Fortunately everyone was in touristy/holiday mood at that intersection.

I woke up at 3:50am today, and had so much energy I couldn't lay still in bed. I decided there was no way I could go back to sleep. My mind was actually kind of tired, but my body is pumped with energy. I've never voluntarily gotten up at this hour before, so it is mightly strange. I poked my head out the front door, and I can hear a party still going on down the street. After concluding that other people haven't even started their sleeping cycle yet I retreated back in. Maybe some food will put me in a sleepy mode. Maybe blogging will. So here we are.

By the way, the ice cream turned out to be a block of icy strawberry goodness. We had to remove it from the fridge and wait about 1/2h before we can start hacking into it each time, but it tastes good once it is no longer in a block.

There are actually some nice little hikes around Villa Montalvo, including this one with a gorgeous view of silicon valley. Yes you can hear all the cars from the mountaintop but it's nice in a still photo isn't it? We ended up getting quite lost on this hike, and went about three times the distance we initially intended. But hey, it's all in the name of exercise.
